JFTC Essay Competition

Words from Winners of JFTC Essay Competition 2007

I would like to express my deep thanks to the selecting committee and organizing members of JFTC. I had a great pleasure at the Awards ceremony. Besides getting to know the other winners, I also had a chance to meet and talk to Japanese captains of industry from who I learned a lot about the reality and changes of today’s global economy. Their vision and commitment to grow under the harsh wind of globalization inspire and motivate me a lot.

It is an honor and a privilege to receive this award from a distinguished body as the Japan Foreign Trade Council, which has motivated me to further study the Japanese economy. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to visit Tokyo for the awards ceremony, and enjoyed meeting the esteemed judges and fellow awardees, who inspired me with their accomplishments. I sincerely thank you for your kind hospitality, and hope to learn more from you in the future.

I first heard about this contest thanks to the international mobility department of my school. I thought it was definitely worth trying, so I took up the challenge with great enthusiasm. As I am really keen on foreign languages and cultures, this worldwide event immediately appealed to me. Now, I do feel proud and glad I won a prize for excellence: this is a very rewarding achievement! Such experience will always be helpful to prove my writing skills and my English level. Therefore, I wish to thank the Japan Foreign Trade Council for appraising my work with full consideration.
