JFTC Essay Competition

Words from Winners of JFTC Essay Competition 2008

As soon as I learnt that I was selected as an awardee of the JFTC Essay Competition 2008, I started to look forward to attending the Awarding Ceremony. The opportunity to receive the Certificate of Award personally from Chairman Katsumata, in the presence of Dr. Nakatani and other excellent guests, was a great honour for me. I am very grateful to the JFTC for enabling me to attend that memorable event, which was the highlight of my first visit to Japan.

I was so honoured to have attended the award ceremony held in January in which I, essay winner, was at the flash light of the press and was given the applause of a number of government officials, politicians and business partners on the stage. The competition definitely created a fruitful platform for people of different culture getting together and exchanging thoughts about the topic. The entire competition and award ceremony were successful, exemplifying the awesome organization work behind. I am thankful to the committee and JFTC for giving me the memorable night.

I am delighted to get the prestigious international JFTC Award. It is a great honor to me, although I could not attend the ceremony to receive it personally. I am grateful to JFTC for conferring me this. I like to thank the selection committee, the jury, and the chairperson to support the idea of my essay. I am glad that I have made some contribution to make our world a better place for tomorrow, and I thank JFTC for this.

Naoki ABE (Japanese)

As one of the participant of JFTC essay competition 2008, I extremely honored and thankful to have been selected as the winner for special prize. As mentioned in my essay, I believe that the world is moving toward a change of trend. A sustainable framework that puts forward environmental and economic improvements is needed. I argue that Japan has a comparative advantage in its green technology and that through it; Japan will be able to progress and preserve the earth harmoniously. I am proud for this award. Thank you.
